Privacy

Policy version 2026-11-05. Draft pending legal review.

getakiwi.com is run from New Zealand and follows the Privacy Act 2020. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

getakiwi.com. Privacy officer: privacy@getakiwi.com.

What we collect and why

Outside the waitlist, we do not store your full IP address. We do not sell information or share it with advertisers.

Your choice

Most visitors see a short notice, and tracking runs from the first page. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we show you a pop-up saying so. We need tracking to give you a personalised experience, so joining the waitlist turns tracking on for that browser. Joining the waitlist is the only thing that switches it on. If you have explicitly opted out, joining the waitlist does not override that. You can withdraw at any time:

Who we share it with

We use Cloudflare to host the site and store this information. Cloudflare processes it on servers outside New Zealand, and we have checked that its terms protect it to a comparable standard. Waitlist emails are sent by Resend, an email service provider based outside New Zealand. Resend receives the email address and the message content needed to deliver the email. We do not sell information.

How long we keep it

A daily job deletes anything older than these periods.

Your rights

You can ask whether we hold information about you, ask for a copy, and ask us to correct or delete it. We will respond within 14 working days. Contact privacy@getakiwi.com. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.

Waitlist emails

We only email people who joined the waitlist or asked to hear from us. Once launch emails start, every email will say who sent it and include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future emails, and we keep a short record of the request so we do not email you again by mistake.

Where the site is available

getakiwi.com is not offered to visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. We block requests from those regions.

Security and breaches

The site uses HTTPS and a strict content security policy. If a privacy breach causes serious harm, we will tell the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the version date and ask again if the change affects tracking.
